My Favorite Christmas Specials/Movies

Hi everyone!
Since Christmas is almost upon us, four more days to be exact, I decided to do a post on my favorite Christmas specials and movies. These lists are in no specific order, add the year they premiered along with a review out of ten, and I also will describe why I love each movie.

Movies:
1. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
Review: 9/10
I love how you learn the backstory of George Bailey and then follow him as he struggles in the current time.
2. Elf (2003)
Review: 10/10
This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen and I watch it multiple times throughout the year because I love it so much!
3. Polar Express (2004)
Review: 7.5/10
As a child, my "brothers" (they were my friends who were like my brothers) and I would always watch this together while celebrating they holidays, so this has always been very special to me.
4. White Christmas (1954)
Review: 8.5/10
I love musicals and Bing Crosby so of course I love this movie! I recommend it to those of you who love movie musicals just as much as I do.
5. Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009)
Review: 9/10
This movie is so clever, especially with the animation style and interpretation of the characters. I have always been a fan of the novel by Charles Dickens and I feel like this did the novel justice in many ways.
6. Arthur Christmas (2011)
Review: 8/10
This movie is hilarious and I love the new way of picturing how Santa handles Christmas with a fancy ship and a control center of elves.

Specials:
1. Hey Hey Hey It's Knishmas! (2008)
Review: 9.5/10
2. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Review: 9/10
3. Pee-wee's Playhouse: Christmas Special (1988)
Review: 10/10
4. Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
Review: 8.5/10
5. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
Review: 7/10
6. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town (1970)
Review: 8.5/10
7. Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas (2004)
Review: 8/10
8. A Pinky and the Brain Christmas (1995)
Review: 10/10

That's all for today! Happy holidays and I'll see you next year!

The First Flight (of Stairs)

Hi there and welcome to my Blog Under the Stairs!

I'm Julia or, as my friends call me, Jill (long story). I am a high schooler who loves YouTube, photography, traveling, reading, poetry, writing, Harry Potter, and music. I am a clarinetist for my school's band and a self-taught pianist and ukulele player. I love hanging out with my friends and going on adventures with my family.

Now that introductions are done, let's talk about why I'm here and why you are reading. I'll go first. When I was younger, my mom had a food blog and I always loved doing guest posts and watching her blog our dinners. This sparked my idea for blogging a few years back when I created my first blog, Hedwig's Flight, a place where I could geek out about Harry Potter. As you may have guessed, I forgot about it and decided that I would start anew on this blog, which has another Harry Potter reference as the title, sorry in advance.

Why you're here, I'm not sure. For whatever reason you are here, I'm glad. I've always strived to put a smile on people's faces by making jokes or being able to relate with someone and I hope that this blog is just another way to do that.

Well, that's all I've got time for now. Good bye!
